Get to know General Dentist Dr. Sherry Vakilian, who serves patients in Encinitas and Escondido, California

Dr. Vakilian is a general dentist who is currently serving patients’ dental needs at her private dental practice Dental Solutions of Encinitas in California. Dental Solutions of Encinitas is devoted to comprehensive and preventive patient care through routine maintenance and check-ups. There, Dr. Vakilian and her staff are passionate about helping patients achieve optimal oral health. 

Dr. Vakilian is also affiliated with Rose Pediatric Dental Group in Escondido, California. Rose Pediatric Dental Group provides specialized dentistry for children and adolescents in a “child-friendly” environment. As a pediatric practice, the team of dental professionals offer quality care to meet the dental needs of each child who walks through their door. 

Dr. Vakilian grew up in Iran before moving to the United States. She studied at the University of California, San Diego and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Vakilian earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco where she achieved a clinical honors award upon graduation. She then moved back to San Diego shortly afterwards.

Dr. Vakilian understands that a visit to the dentist is not at the top of the “favorite things to do”  list for most people. Some patients consider a visit to the dentist as a stressful experience and may avoid seeking treatment. For this reason, Dr. Vakilian considers her patients’ emotional and physical well-being to be her number one priority. Every day, she strives to ensure that her patients are as relaxed and as stress-free as possible while providing them with outstanding dental care. She holds herself to the highest standard of clinical excellence and believes that it is her duty to consult with every patient individually, to explain all treatment options clearly, as well as to answer any questions that they may have.

As part of her commitment to further her education, Dr. Vakilian is a member of dental associations devoted to the continued education of dentists. She is a member of the San Diego County Dental Society, the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Osteoready Implant Club.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. As a general dentist, Dr. Vakilian diagnoses and treats dental issues, as well as helps patients to develop better oral health regimens. 

Dr. Vakilian is fluent in Farsi. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband and trying new foods from different parts of the world. She also enjoys cooking, listening to music, hiking, and spending time with her family. She is an avid dog lover and loves spending time with her terrier, Cuspid.
