Founded in 1975 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Chattanooga Allergy Clinic is recognized as the leading allergy practice in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. With over 40 years of experience, their team of double board certified specialists have cared for over 100,000 patients by providing innovative infant, pediatric, adolescent and adult allergy, asthma, and immunology care. With nine locations throughout the region, they continue to pursue their mission of helping everyone live life to the fullest.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Cromie received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1995 and completed his residency in pediatrics at TC Thompson Children’s Hospital in 1998. After completing a fellowship in pediatric and adult allergy/immunology at the Medical College of Georgia, he joined Chattanooga Allergy Clinic in July 2000.

Licensed to practice medicine in Tennessee and Georgia, the doctor attained board-certification in allergy and immunology through the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). The mission of the ABAI is to improve the quality of medical care by the development and utilization of professional and educational standards for the initial certification and maintenance of certification of physician specialists in allergy and immunology.

To boot, he is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Cromie is an active member of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology and the American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology. He has previously served as President of the Tennessee Allergy Society, Hamilton County Pediatrics Society, and 2003 Chairman of the American Lung Association Annual Gala.

His board memberships in the past or present include Jr. Achievement, TC Thompson’s Children’s Hospital Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Emily’s Power for a Cure Neuroblastoma Research Foundation.

As for his academic appointment, Dr. Cromie is on staff at TC Thompson Children’s Hospital as a clinical instructor and serves as an instructor for the UT College of Medicine Department of Family Practice.

Allergy and immunology involve the management of disorders related to the immune system. These conditions range from the very common to the very rare, spanning all ages and encompassing various organ systems. An allergist / immunologist is a physician specially trained to diagnose, treat, and manage allergies, asthma, and immunologic disorders, including primary immunodeficiency disorders.
