In his practice, he focuses on comprehensive and extensive psychiatric evaluations and treatment plans specific to individual needs with the goal of promoting lifestyle balance and mental wellbeing. He has significantly earned the reputation of treating patients with all psychiatric issues ranging from depression, mood disturbances, bipolar disorder, panic, social anxiety, OCD, psychosis, paranoia, schizophrenia, sleep problems, attention problems, PTSD, as well as troubles with work and relationships.
With over 14 years of experience in the field, Dr. Riaz has often been inspired by patients’ resilience, creativity and innovation in solving complex problems and in navigating shared decisions between patient and physician.
A native of Pakistan, he completed his medical training at the King Edward Medical University. Early during medical school, he became enthusiastic about pursuing combined training in internal medicine and psychiatry. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in psychiatry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Cabrini Medical Center, and his fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson.
Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in psychiatry and sleep medicine through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
Holding membership status, Dr. Riaz is an active member of the American Psychiatry Association, the American Medical Association, the American Association of Sleep Medicine, and the American Association of Addiction Medicine.
