Dr. Gilbert has had several publications published in medical journals. Dr. Gilbert received his medical degree in 1979 from Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He then went on to complete his internship and residency with Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine (1980;1982), followed by his fellowship training with the University of Massachusetts Medical School (1985). Dr. Gilbert has received several awards for his clinical expertise, including Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014) and Patients’ Choice Award (2014). Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology. Being a Clinical Cardiologist, some of the most common conditions that Dr. Gilbert treats include cardiomyopathy, valvular heart disease, heart failure, and hyperlipidemia – among others.
