Get to know Anesthesiologist & Pain Management Specialist Dr. Ayman Farag, who serves patients throughout the State of New York.

Dr. Farag is a board-certified anesthesiologist & pain management specialist at Be Well Primary Health Care Center, LLC. He has been serving the communities of Brooklyn and Greater NYC for more than 20 years.

Be Well Primary Health Care Center, LLC is a state-of-the-art facility designed to improve patients’ overall health outcomes and well-being. The center is a one-stop-shop health care facility serving patients of all ages. In addition to providing comprehensive primary care services with the focus on preventative care, patients have access to an extraordinary range of specialty services including dentistry, ophthalmology/optometry, and physical therapy. 

In his professional experience, Dr. Farag also works from all four Manhattan Wellness Group locations: Lexington, Murray Hill, Midtown, and Brooklyn Heights. Specializing in pain management, he uses alternative pain management treatment options to help patients live pain free lives. He is also certified in vein therapy, and is highly experienced in the removal of varicose veins, spider veins, and reticular veins.

Licensed to practice medicine in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Connecticut, he is affiliated with NYC Health and Hospitals-Coney Island, NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn, Mount Sinai Brooklyn, and St. John’s Episcopal Hospital.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Farag received his medical degree from Zagazig University Faculty of Medicine. He completed his first year of residency training at North Shore University Hospital, and then continued his training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering, St. Luke’s Hospital, and Brookdale University Hospital. He concluded his extensive training with a fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at Detroit Medical Center and Wayne State University.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. 

Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Farag is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Medical Association. 

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.

The specialty of pain medicine, or algiatry, is a discipline within the field of medicine that is concerned with the prevention of pain, and the evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of persons in pain. Pain management specialists are doctors who specialize in the management of patients suffering from acute and chronic pain.
