Get to know Vascular Surgeon Dr. Thomas Y. Lee, who serves patients throughout the State of New Jersey.

A fellowship-trained vascular surgeon, Dr. Lee is a part of the team of professionals at Advanced Vascular Associates. He sees patients at the offices in Morristown, Sparta, Pompton Plains, and Teaneck, New Jersey.

Specializing in vascular surgery and wound care, his professional interests include leg ulcer care, peripheral vascular disease, varicose veins, vascular disease, endovascular surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and aortic aneurysm.

Mastering his surgical skills in New Jersey, Dr. Lee is an attending physician at Morristown Medical Center, Saint Clare’s Hospital – Denville, Newton Medical Center, Chilton Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center, St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital.

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he obtained his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 1994. He then went on to perform his residency in general surgery at the New York University Medical Center in 2000, and his fellowship in vascular surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2002.

An expert in his field, Dr. Lee is board-certified in general surgery and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge. 

Among his professional affiliations, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, and a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).

Vascular surgery is a surgical subspecialty in which diseases of the vascular system, including the arteries, veins, and lymphatic circulation, are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction. A vascular surgeon diagnoses, treats, and manages conditions in the arteries and veins, also called the blood vessels. These specialists treat a range of health problems, from spider and varicose veins to life-threatening aneurysms, and can help patients manage chronic conditions throughout their lives.
