Dr. Sundaram Jr. is an established neurologist & stroke specialist. He joined Texas Institute for Neurological Disorders in 1989 when he joined Dr. Sundaram Sr. as the first partner in the practice. 

As President of the group, which has grown to be the largest private practice neurology group in North Texas, he operates out of the following offices: Sherman, Denison, and McKinney. The practice itself has 12 offices located across southern Oklahoma and North Texas.

Specializing in all aspects of neurology, Dr. Sundaram Jr. has specific interests in acute stroke and delivery. He is also interested in multiple sclerosis diagnosis and treatment, as well as headaches and movement disorders. He has extensive experience in diagnosis and treatment of all types of dementia and is specifically interested in the caregiver aspects of the overall care. 

Taking care of one patient at a time, his hospital affiliations include Alliance Durant, Baylor Scott White McKinney, Medical City McKinney, Carrus Specialty, Carrus Rehab, Texoma Medical Center, and Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center, Medical CIty Plano, Medical City Frisco and Medical CIty Arlington.

A firm believer in the education of patients as an integral part of overall patient care and treating one patient at a time, Dr. Sundaram Jr. is the Medical Director of Stroke Services at Medical City McKinney, the Director of Stroke Services at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – McKinney, a member of the Baylor Neuroscience Council, a member of the Brain & Spine Council at Medical City Healthcare, as well as a member and Secretary of the Board of Managers at Carrus Hospitals.

Previously, he served as the Director of Neurosciences at WNJ Medical Center, the Medical Director of Rehabilitation Hospital, Carrus Hospitals, and as the Medical Director of the Rehabilitation Unit at WNJ Hospital & Community Specialty Hospital. He is the past President of the Grayson County Medical Society.

Educated in India, Dr. Sundaram Jr. earned his medical degree from Madras Medical College in 1982. He then relocated to the United States, performing his internship in internal medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital in 1986 and his residency in neurology at the University of Vermont Medical Center in 1989. He also completed a mini fellowship at the Sleep Medicine Institute, and a mini fellowship in epilepsy at Kiffin Penry at Wake Forest University.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and recertified twice. The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Listing his professional affiliations, Dr. Sundaram Jr. is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Stroke Association, the American Sleep Disorders Association, Consortium of MS Centers, the International Movement Disorders Society, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Neurological Society, the American Association of Physicians from India, the Medical Group Management Association, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
