Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Silvia O. Williams, who serves patients in Baltimore, Maryland.

A prominent psychiatrist, Dr. Williams is in practice at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Originally from Argentina, she earned her medical degree from the National University of Cordoba in 1983. After relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in psychiatry and her fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry at the University of Maryland in 1999 and 2003, respectively.

Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in psychiatry and child & adolescent psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

Speaking several languages, Dr. Williams is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian.
