Before joining Princeton Brain & Spine Care, Dr. Qureshi practiced neurosurgery in Arkansas for seven years.
Prior to spending three years as a research fellow studying gene therapy for brain tumors at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Qureshi was a junior faculty member at Trinity College in Ireland.
In regards to his education, Dr. Qureshi earned his Medical Degree at Dow Medical College University of Karachi. He went on to complete neurosurgical training at the University of Arkansas Department of Neurosurgery and a fellowship studying gene therapy for brain tumors at Harvard Medical School.
Neurosurgery is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and cerebrovascular system. Nazer H. Qureshi, MD, D. STAT, MSc, FAANS, FICS, FACS, attended Dow Medical College University of Karachi in Pakistan, and received his medical degree in 1990. He then went to Ireland, where he trained in general surgery, including neurosurgery, at the National Center for Neurosurgery (1993-1994). Furthermore, upon relocating to the United States, he conducted general surgery residencies at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (2003), University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (2002-2003) Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals (2001-2002), and Tufts University (2000-2001). He then performed his neurosurgery fellowship at the University of Arkansas Department of Neurosurgery (2003-2008), where he received the Prof. Iftikhar A. Raja Humanity in Medicine Award. In addition, he completed his research fellowship in gene therapy for brain tumors at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital (1996-1999). Dr. Qureshi received board certification in neurosurgery from the American Board of Neurological Surgery. In addition to his medical degree, he holds a Master of Science degree in Neuroscience (1996) and Diploma in Statistics (1995) from the University of Dublin/Trinity College Dublin.
