Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. LaKeisha D. Green, who serves patients in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Green is a trusted psychiatrist at Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute. It is a part of UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

The Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute brings together transformative research and patient-centered care to improve the lives of patients today and those of generations to come. It aims to advance the understanding of brain diseases and injury with an ultimate goal: improve treatment options and discover ways to prevent such illnesses. 

Alongside her clinical role, Dr. Green serves as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

In good standing with a number of professional organizations, she is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association.

In the early days of her academic career, Dr. Green graduated with her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2006. She then went on to perform her residency in psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2010.

An authority in her field, the doctor is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.
