Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Emily Francesca Gubert, who serves patients in East Islip and West Islip, New York.

Dr. Gubert is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who is currently serving patients at South Shore Gynecology-Obstetrics Associates in East Islip, New York. As a community-based practice for over 30 years, South Shore Gynecology-Obstetrics Associates is committed to providing individualized, expert and compassionate care to women in a warm and friendly environment.

Dr. Gubert is also affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, New York. There, she has been an Attending Physician for over 25 years. Dr. Gubert is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that board certifies obstetricians and gynecologists (OB-GYNS) and offers continuing certification to OB-GYNS in the United States and Canada. Board certification is a voluntary process for those physicians who choose to pursue certification.

Dr. Gubert earned her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, New York. She then went on to complete her internship and her residency at St. Luke’s- Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. Dr. Gubert is married and has three children. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga, horseback riding, hiking, and reading. She is fluent in Italian and knows some Spanish.

Dr. Gubert is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also a member of the American Medical Association, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Suffolk County OB-GYN Society and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology. OB-GYNs, like Dr. Gubert, specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases and disorders that affect women. Additionally, they work with expecting mothers throughout their pregnancies, during childbirth, and into postpartum.
