Specializing in the care and treatment of the kidneys, Dr. Arfaania is a board-certified nephrologist who has over four decades of experience in his field. In addition to his affiliation with USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, he serves patients at Kidney Disease Medical Group in Glendale, California. 

A 1973 graduate of the Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran, Dr. Arfaania relocated to the United States to pursue further training. He completed his internship at Philadelphia General Hospital in 1976, followed by his residency in internal medicine at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in 1977.  Two years later, in 1979, he completed his fellowship in nephrology at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, the doctor is board-certified in both internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
