After graduating with his medical degree and doctorate degree from the Gorky State Medical Institute in Russia, Dr. Kantsevoy relocated to the United States to complete his residency training at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York and at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. He then went on to complete his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Following his education, the doctor became board-certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. Sergey V. Kantsevoy, MD, PhD, attended the Gorky State Medical Institute, now Donetsk National Medical University, in Russia, and received his medical degree (1983) along PhD in Surgery (1990). Upon relocating to the United States, he served his surgical internship and internal medicine residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York, respectively Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC (1994-1997).
