Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Sergey V. Kantsevoy, who serves patients in Baltimore, Maryland.

Being a seasoned lecturer, he has been invited to medical conferences in China, Germany, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, and the United States. He is a published author and has produced decades of peer-reviewed scientific articles for such publications as Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Digestive Diseases and Sciences, Endoscopy, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and Surgical Endoscopy. What’s more, he is a co-author of several books on digestive disorders and over 20 book chapters, as well as has medical patents on procedures and treatment systems in endoscopic procedures.

After graduating with his medical degree and doctorate degree from the Gorky State Medical Institute in Russia, Dr. Kantsevoy relocated to the United States to complete his residency training at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York and at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. He then went on to complete his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. 

Following his education, the doctor became board-certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. He also earned membership status with the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

Sergey V. Kantsevoy, MD, PhD, attended the Gorky State Medical Institute, now Donetsk National Medical University, in Russia, and received his medical degree (1983) along PhD in Surgery (1990). Upon relocating to the United States, he served his surgical internship and internal medicine residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York, respectively Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC (1994-1997). Furthermore, he conducted his gastroenterology/hepatology fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD (2000). Dr. Kantsevoy received board certification in internal medicine and gastroenterology from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
