After graduating with his medical degree and doctorate degree from the Gorky State Medical Institute in Russia, Dr. Kantsevoy relocated to the United States to complete his residency training at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York and at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. He then went on to complete his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Sergey V. Kantsevoy, MD, PhD, attended the Gorky State Medical Institute, now Donetsk National Medical University, in Russia, and received his medical degree (1983) along PhD in Surgery (1990).
