For 100 years, Stern Cardiovascular has focused on physician/patient relationships, progressive medical technology, and comprehensive treatment. Back in 1984, Dr. Wolford graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from East Tennessee State University. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the University Tennessee College of Medicine in 1989.

Furthering his training, he performed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. He then pursued fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at the University of Tennessee at Memphis in 1995 and 1996, respectively. 

With years of experience, Dr. Wolford is board-certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Board-certified through the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, he is a member of the Tennessee Medical Association, the American College of Cardiology (Fellow), and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

Licensed to practice medicine in Tennessee, Dr. Wolford is affiliated with Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital, Methodist Hospitals of Memphis, and St. Francis Hospital-Memphis.
