Get to know Family Physician Dr. Nancy Pyram-Bernard, who serves patients in Plantation, Florida.

Dr. Pyram-Bernard is a trusted family physician who joined the team at South Florida Family Health and Research Centers in Plantation, Florida in 2015. She works within the Primary Care Family Medicine & Lice Source Services divisions. 

There, she remains dedicated to providing the families of Plantation and its surrounding communities with outstanding medical care that focuses on general health and wellness, acute illnesses, and managing chronic or long-term ailments with the best treatment options available. She is patient-focused in her approach to health care and encourages her patients to consider preventive health services designed to help them avoid developing conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and other potentially debilitating medical issues. 

Agreeing wholeheartedly with the South Florida Family Health and Research Center’s mission of providing affordable high-quality medical care for patients of all ages, Dr. Pyram-Bernard is dedicated to improving each family’s health and working with them to devise strategies that keep them healthy.

Professionally, she is affiliated with several hospitals in her local area, including Memorial Hospital West (serving as Chief of the Department of Family Practice) and Memorial Hospital Miramar.

Upon graduating with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998, Dr. Pyram-Bernard went on to further her training. She completed her residency in family medicine at Peninsula Hospital Center in 2001, 

An active member of the American Osteopathic Association, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP). The AOBFP is an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
