Why can't I get pregnant?
You should see a gynecologist who can do the basic work-up: evaluate your periods and ovulation, assess risk factors for tubal disease, and possibly order a semen analysis for your husband. READ MORE
What is an retroverted uterus?
A retroverted uterus just means it curves backward towards you spine. This is very common and does NOT cause infertility. About a third of women have this. The only thing this may cause is more back pain during your periods. Your doctor was obviously not a gynecologist. READ MORE
What can I do to improve my chances of getting pregnant?
If you are having regular periods and are otherwise healthy, I would give this a few more months. You may want to buy ovulation predictor kits (any drug store has these) so you know when your fertility is highest. READ MORE
Why do my periods last for such a long time?
If your periods are otherwise normal--predictable, no bleeding in between--this can be normal. However, there is a lot that can be done for heavy bleeding, some with minimal side effects. In addition to hormone therapy or an IUD, there are non-hormonal medications that can help. READ MORE
What can I do about my facial hair growth?
This depends on the type of facial hair growth. If it is peach fuzz, then usually hormones are not a factor. If it is coarse dark hair, it could be hormones or genetics or often a combination of both. There are medications that can help, but the quickest treatment is laser hair removal. READ MORE
Will taking birth control for an extended period of time effect my chances of getting pregnant when the time is right?
Hundreds of studies have been done on the long term affects of birth control, and there is no affect on fertility. However, some women start birth control BECAUSE their periods are so irregular, and these women tend to have more infertility. But if your periods were regular before you started the pill, your fertility is probably fine. READ MORE
Why am I experiencing pain during intercourse?
If this is a new pain, you definitely should get this checked out. It could be an ovarian cyst or endometriosis or a pelvic infection. If it goes away, then nothing to worry about. Cysts can come and go. READ MORE
