A trusted pain management specialist & anesthesiologist, Dr. Beardwood has over 20 years of experience in helping people with chronic pain find better lives. 

Serving patients with compassion and expertise, he offers his services at the Clinic & Specialty Center at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His particular expertise includes injection therapies, with a special interest in neuromodulation and dorsal root ganglion stimulation therapy.

A graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Dr. Beardwood went on to perform his internship in internal medicine at Baystate Medical Center. He then completed both his residency in anesthesiology and his fellowship in pain management at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. 

Double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). The mission of the ABA is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.

On a professional level, Dr. Beardwood is an active member of the North American Neuromodulation Society.

Pain management is a branch of medicine employing an interdisciplinary approach for easing the suffering and improving the quality of life of those living with chronic pain. A pain management specialist is a doctor who specializes in pain medicine, focusing on the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of pain.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.
