Coming from very humble beginnings, Dr. Murthy was raised to be a strong, positive, independent woman. She grew up in India and graduated from medical school at Lady Hardinge Medical College in 1996. It was at this time that she developed a passion for women’s health.
She completed her internship at Maulana Azad Medical College, and then pursued a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital. During this time, she married her high school sweetheart. Life after 2001 suddenly shifted and her husband had to move to the United States. That is when she made a career move and decided to join him so that they could be together as a family. Upon starting a new life, Dr. Murthy joined the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit.
“I enjoyed every single day of my training. This is where I met Dr. Gumbrecht. Kelly and I were always a great team. We began taking over the world together when we both became chief residents. Since then, I have found a forever friend. We started working together in private practice in Rochester Hills and that’s when we found another friend in Dr Goulding. Beyond brings new beginnings and hope for me. We come together as a team of friends who are more like family and we bring the same support and compassion to our patients” expressed Dr. Murthy.
