Get to know Periodontist Dr. Rebecca  Wagner, who serves patients in Chambersburg, PA and surrounding areas

As a board-certified periodontist, Dr. Wagner specializes in gum health and dental implants. When a patient comes to her for any periodontal or implant-related treatment, they are seeing the best doctor for the job. However, she doesn’t rely on her credentials alone to give patients peace of mind; she has created a unique office environment, The Wagner Centre Implants & Periodontics,  focused on comfort. 

With years of experience in periodontics and implant dentistry, Dr. Wagner is respected for her exceptional surgical skill set in treating periodontal diseases, and in performing oral plastic surgery and complex dental implant surgery. As a certified TeethXpress provider, she is one of few surgeons trained and experienced in performing the TeethXpress dental implant procedure, allowing patients to regain their smile and the ability to properly chew and eat all types of foods in as little as one day.

Dr Rebecca Wagner is certified to offer a simple, quick and safe outpatient treatment for gum disease, also known as periodontal disease.  Gum disease is as an infection of the tissues that support the teeth, the condition affects over 60% adult Americans. The LANAP® protocol is an FDA-cleared laser treatment developed by Millennium Dental Technologies, Inc. to clear away diseased tissue without cutting or stitching of the gums.

After earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, Dr. Wagner went on to complete her residency at Hackensack Medical Center. She then obtained her Master of Science degree in Periodontology from The University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She was a Partner at Antietam Periodontics in Hagerstown, Maryland before opening her own practice in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

A Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Board of Periodontology, she is a Fellow of The Misch International Implant Institute, which is the most prestigious center for dental implant study.

Among her professional affiliations, she is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Cumberland Valley Dental Society, Pennsylvania State Dental Association. 

Periodontology is the specialty of dentistry that studies supporting structures of teeth, as well as diseases and conditions that affect them. A periodontist specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, and in the placement of dental implants. They are familiar with the latest techniques for diagnosing and treating periodontal disease and are trained in cosmetic periodontal procedures and grafting procedures to rebuild lost bone and gum tissue.

Having always been active in giving back to the community, Dr. Wagner was the Dental Director of Convoy of Hope in Hagerstown for 6 years. She also started the first Dentistry from the Heart community outreach in 2011. Then, in 2013, she travelled to Nicaragua for a dental mission trip. In 2016  she spent over two weeks in Tanzania, to provide oral surgery treatment for orphaned children.  

Outside of  her rewarding professional career, she enjoys travelling, going to the beach, playing tennis, and downhill skiing with her two children and her Siberian Husky Ajax.
