In 1984, Dr. Wood graduated with his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He then went on to perform his residency in general surgery at Hennepin County Medical Center in 1990, and his residency in plastic surgery at the Emory University School of Medicine in 1992. This was followed by a fellowship in plastic surgery at New York University Medical Center in 1993.
Two years later, in 1995, he attained board certification in plastic surgery through the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
Holding fellowship status, Dr. Wood is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons & a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
