Get to know Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist Dr. Prashant Raghavendran, who serves patients in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Raghavendran is a highly regarded pediatric hematologist/oncologist at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, a position he assumed in 2023. His clinical expertise encompasses hemostasis and thrombosis, myeloproliferative disorders, and palliative care.

Dedicated to education, Dr. Raghavendran holds the role of Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine, where he imparts knowledge to aspiring medical students.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Raghavendran earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Texas Christian University/University of North Texas Health Science Center (TCU/UNTHSC). Following this, he completed his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and pursued fellowship training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends individuals be under pediatric care up to the age of 21.
