Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center opened in 1992 to provide comprehensive cancer services to the South Florida community. Together with the 40-bed inpatient hospital, UMHC – University of Miami Hospital & Clinics, Sylvester serves as the cancer diagnosis, treatment, and research hub for UHealth – University of Miami Health System.
In regards to his education, he graduated with his medical degree from the Universidad El Bosque Escuela Colombiana de Medicina in 2001. He then began his training by completing his internal medicine residency through Lincoln Medical & Mental Health Center in 2009. He then completed his Pulmonary fellowship with Yale University/Bridgeport Hospital in 2011 followed by his Critical Care Medicine fellowship in 2012 and a Pulmonary fellowship with Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2015.
