Mr. Reagan B Anderson D.O.'s Expert Contributions
  • How long does it take to heal from a deep chemical peel?

It really depends on how deep the peel is. Some of the more aggressive peels have healing times of 3-6 weeks. I do not recommend deep chemical peels for the vast majority of patient concerns. READ MORE

  • Pimple marks removal?

The best treatment is time and keeping them out of the sun. READ MORE

  • Full body rash?

You need to see a Dermatologist for accurate diagnosis as some of these can be life threatening. READ MORE

  • How long does it take acne marks to go away?

It usually takes 1-6 months for the red of an acne mark to go away. READ MORE

  • How do you get rid of deep acne scars?

There are multiple modalities that one can use to lessen acne scars. A seasoned dermatologist will be able to point you in the right direction on whether to use lasers, chemical peels, surgery, etc., depending on the type of scar and the desired outcome. Please be sure to first have the acne under control so that more scars do not form. READ MORE

  • Seborrheic dermatitis face product?

Ketoconazole is a great choice. READ MORE

  • How to treat skin blisters?

You just leave a blister alone. Don't remove the skin. If signs of infection start to occur, please see your local doctor. READ MORE

  • How to treat ringworm?

Ringworm is due to a fungus on the skin. So, we usually use topical antifungals like Lotramin Ultra twice a day for 6 weeks. But as always, please make sure you see a Dermatologist first to make sure you have the right diagnosis before you treat anything. READ MORE

  • Treatment of skin ringworm?

You really need to see the Provider who prescribed the medication to you and see if they still think it is ringworm or if it could be Nummular Eczema or something else. READ MORE

  • What does glycolic acid do to your face?

It causes a mild chemical burn to the face that stimulates collagen formation during the healing process. READ MORE

  • How to manage petechiae?

Petechiae have many causes and should be evaluated by a dermatologist to appropriately diagnose. There is nothing to do for it but wait for it to go away. READ MORE

  • What are the side effects of glycolic acid?

Glycolic acid can help remove acne scars if the concentration is high enough. However, you SHOULD NOT try to do this without the help of a Dermatologist because when the acid peels get this strong permanent scarring from them can occur if not very careful. READ MORE

  • How long do you leave glycolic acid on your face?

Glycolic acid comes in many different strengths and formulations. Some are cleansers, some are lotions, and there are many different strengths. Please consult with your local dermatologist and see if the recommendations on the package are recommended for your skin type as well as your concerns. READ MORE

  • How do I stop my face from being so oily?

That is difficult to answer as how oily your face is could be a result of genetics, diet, or perhaps an underlying medical condition. The topical Vitamin A creams (like Differin, Retin-A) can help reduce oil. READ MORE

  • How can I stop pulling my hair?

This is a hard question to answer because it deals with how to stop bad habits. My best advice is to ask yourself what psychological need this is filling. Once you understand why you are doing it you have the ability to stop it. READ MORE

  • Suspicious mole?

Please get this checked by a Dermatologist once the social distancing is over in your area. New or changing lesions always need to be checked! READ MORE

  • How do you treat sun poisoning?

Sun poisoning needs to be diagnosed and treated by a doctor as sometimes these bad sunburns will require labs and potential monitoring in a hospital. Please get help with the appropriate medical professional to make sure that serious complications can be screened for and monitored. READ MORE

  • At what age does acne normally go away?

Acne normally burns out around age 40 in most people-some people sooner and some people later. READ MORE

  • How do you kill fungus in your nail?

That is very difficult to do. We used to only have oral treatments for this but now we have topical prescriptions that are a lot safer. The first thing to do though is to have a sample of the nail sent to the lab to make sure that you actually have nail fungus as it is often misdiagnosed. READ MORE

  • Is Mohs surgery painful?

No more than any other surgery. Mohs are usually done under local anesthesia (so you are not knocked out). To achieve numbing we usually do the same procedure to numb as was done for the biopsy = most people do not find this too painful. READ MORE
