  • Who is my child's father?

Unfortunately since you don’t remember when your last period was you will need to obtain paternity testing. The fact that you delivered early has no bearing on who the baby’s father is. You can do an internet search for labs who perform those tests in your area. READ MORE

  • Pregnancy

To be certain I would recommend an evaluation with a gynecologist. If you are not planning to be pregnant then I would recommend discussing options for prevention. If you are trying to conceive then they should be able to evaluate you and see what the status of your PCOS is and assist you in your endeavor. READ MORE

  • Watery discharge

A malodorous discharge likely signifies a vaginal infection more common after the menstrual cycle. Whenever you have an upset in the chemical composition of the vagina (pH balance) from douching, medication use, unprotected sex, bubble baths, etc, you change the balance between the normal healthy bacteria and unhealthy bacteria. You should have an evaluation to be checked and treated. READ MORE

  • Undetectable implant in the body?

I am not aware of a device that would have been used 12 yrs ago that would have been implanted for treatment of endometriosis that would have lasted that long releasing medication (chemicals) and at no time is arsenic used to manage any gynecologic conditions. I would recommend you and your wife visit the doctor who performed the surgery to find out the details of the procedure and to discuss the symptoms your wife is having. If that doctor is not available, follow up with A doctor for evaluation. READ MORE

  • I'm having pregnancy symptoms?

If you and your doctor did not discuss permanent sterilization (separate procedure) before your ablation then I would assume it was not done. If You no longer desire the ability to conceive then you need to speak to your doctor about how to make that happen. READ MORE

  • What should you not do after a miscarriage?

Don’t have sex right away. It’s so important to let your body and your heart heal after having such a traumatic event happen. Take time to regroup. Speak with your doctor about what the steps are and the timing of everything and make sure you are not just physically ready but emotionally, mentally and spiritually ready to try again- if that was what your plan was. And if you weren’t planning to be pregnant, speak with your doctor about a plan for using contraception so that you don’t have an unintended pregnancy. READ MORE

  • HPV?

Unfortunately your case sounds more complicated than can be answered in this forum. I would need more information about your pap history before I could answer your specific question. But typically, the Pap test that gynecologists do is not associated with other cancers in the nose or other places. And having HPV on the cervix is not an indication of cancer elsewhere. But if there is concern for cancer in any part of the body or strong family history, please follow up with your doctor for further evaluation and management. READ MORE

  • What can I do for sore nipples during pregnancy?

Cold compresses, Lanolin cream usually work to help soothe sore nipples. You could also change your bra to a maternity bra. Those are usually softer and cause less pressure on the nipples. READ MORE

  • Do your feet get bigger during early pregnancy?

Everyone’s body is different but it can happen. It depends on how much weight you gain during your pregnancy. And once you lose the weight, the shoe size will return to normal. READ MORE

  • How do you know when the baby's head is down?

Most times, the mother will feel pressure in the vagina, but that doesn't always mean it's the head. Your doctor will do an examination and/or an ultrasound to confirm the position in the third trimester. READ MORE

  • Why is my period blood brown for 3 days?

Sometimes before your cycle actually starts, you can have dark brown discharge. Your menstrual cycle is the lining of your uterus shedding when you haven't gotten pregnant that month. It's a normal process. READ MORE

  • Can a period start with brown blood?

Yes, sometimes before the full cycle begins, there may be spotting that is brown or dark red. The cycle may end in dark red or brown spotting also. READ MORE

  • What exercises help you dilate?

    Walking and sex. READ MORE

  • Do veins show more in breasts when pregnant?

Yes, because of increased blood flow. READ MORE

  • What are signs your water is about to break?

There aren't really signs but you may have leaking or sensation of moisture that would prompt you to be evaluated by your health care provider. READ MORE

  • Odds of contracting herpes?

Well let's not use words like 'clean' to describe any one here. But it would be difficult to put a number on that. lf the man was known to be positive for Herpes and was actively shedding virus (which he would not technically have known unless he was having an outbreak at the time of intercourse) he would be more likely to transmit the virus. Both women could be tested for antibodies to determine whether they were infected and if the exposure was recent or not. They should speak to their health care provider to determine the tests needed. I always recommend my patients that are positive for genital herpes use suppression medication, use condoms and inform their potential/prospective partners of their status before intercourse. • How does pregnancy discharge look like?

It depends. Normal discharge early in pregnancy could be clear and mucousy. Later in pregnancy the discharge increases in amount, consistency (it thickens) and usually is white in color. But if it has a color like yellow, green, gray, brown and/or has an odor, fishy, ammonia like or just foul smelling, you should be evaluated by your health care provider. READ MORE

  • Help regarding HIV medication?

Please talk to the physician who prescribed the prep medication to you to better explain the timing and the medication's efficacy based on your sexual habits and behavior. It is also important to use safer sex practices (i.e. condoms) along with whatever prep medications to decrease your risk. Please listen to trained professionals and not 'someone' who might have read something on the internet. READ MORE

  • Bartholin's cyst?

It is not uncommon for the Bartholin's cyst to reoccur on the same side repeatedly or occur on the opposite side. Now it will be difficult for me to clearly answer whether this swelling is from the procedure or from reoccurrence. It will be important to follow up with your physician to confirm reoccurrence vs infection from another source. READ MORE

  • What does creamy white discharge mean?

Not necessarily. Depends on a variety of factors. Your discharge thickens and increases as you near cycle time, and if you are nearing the the latter parts of your pregnancy. We encourage to look for things that are different than what is your normal. If there is color like yellow, tan, gray or green, If you have a foul, fishy or ammonia like odor, if there are other symptoms like burning, itching, irritation then you are more likely to have an infection and require an evaluation. It is important to become familiar with your body’s own natural scent. Each woman is different. When you notice a change it usually means your pH is off usually by something like changing your soap, detergent, fabric softener, using perfume scented sanitary napkins, tampons, wearing panties not cotton lined, douching, medication use, etc. It is important to speak with and/or be seen by your health care professional to be sure before using any home remedies or over the counter treatments.
