He then went on to complete his residency in pediatrics and his fellowship in cardiology at Boston Children’s Hospital. Later, he returned to Brigham and Women’s Hospital to complete an additional fellowship in pediatric cardiology.

A member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, he is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Toltzis is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the American Heart Association.

The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology.
