Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Robert Toltzis, who serves patients throughout the State of Kentucky.

Dr. Toltzis is a board-certified cardiologist currently affiliated with St. Elizabeth Physicians, seeing patients at their offices in Florence, Crestview Hills, and Fort Thomas, Kentucky. He specializes in congenital heart disease, non-invasive cardiology, heart disease in pregnancy, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

St. Elizabeth Physicians is the multi-specialty physician organization of St. Elizabeth Healthcare, one of the oldest, largest, and most respected medical providers in the Northern Kentucky, Southeastern Indiana and Southwestern Ohio regions. Their combined reputation has been built through unyielding dedication to their patients and employees. Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Toltzis graduated with his medical degree from Hahnemann University, and completed his internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He then went on to complete his residency in pediatrics and his fellowship in cardiology at Boston Children’s Hospital. Later, he returned to Brigham and Women’s Hospital to complete an additional fellowship in pediatric cardiology.

A member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, he is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Toltzis is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the American Heart Association.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

In honor of his clinical expertise, Dr. Toltzis has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2018, 2017, 2014, 2013), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018, 2017, 2014, 2013), and the On-Time Doctor Award (2018, 2017, 2014).
