After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the East Tennessee State University in 2007 and 2010, respectively. Later, he completed an additional fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of Connecticut Health Center in 2011.
