Get to know Internist Dr. Susan Matos-Cloke, who serves patients in Paramus, New Jersey.
Dr. Matos-Cloke is a committed internist seeing patients at her private practice - Advanced Hormone Solutions - in Paramus, New Jersey. Certified in the SottoPelle® Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy Method, she has more than 20 years of experience, including 10 years of teaching primary care medicine to residents and medical students. Her interest in Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) grew out of frustration.
“I became increasingly frustrated when patients, those suffering from peri-menopausal, menopausal, and andropausal, came in for refills of anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medications that were prescribed by their other physician’s to treat their symptoms. I knew they were not depressed or anxious, their hormones were out of balance and they needed a treatment to replace the hormones that their bodies were no longer producing. After much research I finally decided to train with Dr. Gino Tutera, founder of SottoPelle®, a natural pellet based hormone replacement therapy. Study after study has shown that the only truly effective and consistent means of delivering hormones into the bloodstream is via pellet therapy, there are not many trained physicians in the northeast who subscribe to this method” expressed the doctor.
Graduating with her medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine, Dr. Matos-Cloke completed her residency in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital, and her fellowship at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
In pursuit of clinical excellence, she is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
As a testament of her dedication to her field, Dr. Matos-Cloke has been the recipient of the America’s Top Physicians Award (2012), and National Association of Professional Woman of the Year Award (2014).
