The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 2000. He then went on to perform his internship and residency in urology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in 2001 and 2005, respectively. 

An expert in his field, Dr. Shoaf is board-certified in urology and by the American Board of Urology (ABU). The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, and working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care. 

Practicing medicine in Mississippi, he is affiliated with Greenwood Leflore Hospital and Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
