Get to know Rheumatologist Dr. Rosemarie DeSantis-Mastrangelo, who serves patients in Manahawkin, New Jersey.

A specialist in rheumatology, Dr. DeSantis-Mastrangelo has been caring for the patients of Coastal Healthcare since 2002. She operates out of the office in Manahawkin, New Jersey, believing that patient-centered care makes all the difference.

“I take my time with my patients and make sure all their concerns are addressed and that they’re listened to. I try to go above and beyond to help and at least point them in the right direction when there is an issue I cannot treat,” expressed the doctor. 

Prior to joining Coastal Healthcare, she was an associate of Dr. Peggy Garjian in Staten Island, New York. 

Academically, Dr. DeSantis-Mastrangelo graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from New York University. She then went on to earn her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, after which she performed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. This was followed by a clinical fellowship within the Division of Rheumatology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

A member of the American College of Rheumatology, she is board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

In the State of New Jersey, Dr. DeSantis-Mastrangelo is affiliated with HMH Southern Ocean Medical Center and Community Medical Center.
