Dr. Shecter is a board-certified dermatologist practicing in Lake Worth, Florida at Dermatology Center of the Palm Beaches. She performs a blend of dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic/aesthetic services.

With a goal to provide quality medical treatment, Dermatology Center of the Palm Beaches offers adult and pediatric dermatologic services in Lake Worth. The staff treat skin cancers and skin diseases as well as help patients maintain their skin to keep them looking and feeling their best. They approach all cosmetic surgery from the standpoint of whole body wellness, with expertise in esthetic skin cancer removal and cosmetic-enhancing dermatology procedures such as chemical peels, Botox, and facial fillers.

Working with patients to provide excellent dermatological care, Dr. Shecter treats all diseases of the skin, hair and nails for adult and pediatric patients. Her cosmetic services help keep the skin young and healthy looking, and she offers surgical treatments to remedy issues such as warts, moles or lesions.

Along with her specialized procedures, she provides patients a physician approved skin care program. Patients can take advantage of specially formulated products for skin care.

Upon embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Shecter completed her undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Stony Brook where she was on the Dean’s List. She was a recipient of a scholarship to a Master of Science Program in Science Education at Syracuse University.

Thereafter, she went on to receive her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine where she received multiple honors. She performed an osteopathic rotating internship at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, Florida, and then continued on to complete a residency in family practice at the same educational venue.

For almost three years, she practiced as a board-certified family physician in Sunrise, Florida. She then performed a residency in dermatology at Wellington Regional Medical Center and stayed on as a faculty member of the Dermatology Residency Program.

During her dermatology residency, Dr. Shecter co-authored many articles for publication. One of her lectures has received the Koprince Award, given at the meeting of the National Dermatologic Association. 

Helping to maintain healthy and beautiful skin, the doctor is board-certified through the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology (AOBD). The AOBD is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the skin.

Achieving professional competence, Dr. Shecter is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD) and a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology (FAOCD). 

Additionally, she is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, and the American Osteopathic College of Family Practice.
