Get to know Critical Care Specialist Dr. Leo R. Murskyj, who serves patients in Troy, Michigan.

An experienced critical care specialist, Dr. Murskyj works with patients at his private practice in Troy, Michigan. He can also be found on staff at Beaumont Hospital, Troy.

Educated in the United States, he earned his medical degree from the Rosalind Franklin University Chicago School of Medicine in 1985. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals in 1988, and then returned to Rosalind Franklin University to complete a fellowship in pulmonary & critical care medicine in 1990.

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in critical care medicine and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Intensive care medicine, also called critical care medicine, is a medical specialty that deals with seriously or critically ill patients who have, are at risk of, or are recovering from conditions that may be life-threatening. Critical care specialists provide around-the-clock care in highly-stressful situations within intensive care units (ICUs) in hospitals or trauma centers to the most seriously injured or ill patients.

Speaking multiple languages, Dr. Murskyj is fluent in English, Ukrainian, Portuguese, and Spanish.
