Get to know Internist Dr. Margaret Chustecka, who serves patients throughout the State of Connecticut.

A board-certified internist with over 34 years of experience, Dr. Chustecka founded Internal Medicine of Greater New Haven in 2003. She also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale School of Medicine.

At Internal Medicine of Greater New Haven, the team of expert internal medicine doctors strives to help young adults, adults, and seniors of Hamden, Connecticut, and the surrounding area experience and maintain optimal health. The practice emphasizes disease screening, to enable early detection of problems before they create serious health emergencies. The doctors also provide care for acute conditions, ongoing chronic medical illnesses, and general physical examinations.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Chustecka graduated with her medical degree from the Medical School of Warsaw in Poland. After relocating to the United States, she completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at the Newton Wellesley Hospital and Tufts Medical School. Later, she received her Master of Business Administration degree from the Yale School of Management.

An expert in her field, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

In 2011, Dr. Chustecka began Aid for Orphan Relief, a non-profit organization designated to help provide orphaned children and the facilities that care for them, with proper nutrition, medical wellness services and treatments that would otherwise be unavailable to them.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

Speaking multiple languages, Dr. Chustecka is fluent in English, Polish, Russian, and Spanish.
