Get to know Internist, Dr. Eugene C. Ko, who serves patients in Ephrata, Pennsylvania

Dr. Ko is a board-certified internist focusing on substance abuse and outpatient detoxification. He practices through Mojozy in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. Services offered include anger management, brief intervention, cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, family, individual, and marital therapy, motivational interviewing, peer coaching, social skills development, and substance abuse treatment.

After relocating to the United States, he conducted his internal medicine residency at Englewood Hospital in 1985. He then continued his training with a two-year fellowship in pulmonary disease medicine conducted at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in 1987.

Subsequent to his education, Dr. Ko attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

Licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania, Florida, and Connecticut, Dr. Ko maintains hospital privileges at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.
