Back in 1997, she graduated with her medical degree from the University of Texas, Houston. She then went on to complete two consecutive residencies in obstetrics and gynecology at UCSD Medical Center and at the University of Texas Affiliated Hospitals. Later, she completed her fellowship in urogynecology and female pelvic medicine & reconstructive surgery at the University of California, Irvine.
