Get to know General Dentist Dr. John A. Bigler, who serves patients in Arizona.

As a highly experienced and respected general dentist, Dr. Bigler provides a comprehensive range of dental solutions to patients of all ages. He is especially renowned across Arizona as an expert in dental sleep medicine and the effective treatment of sleep apnea. What’s more, he remains dedicated to educating patients who are CPAP intolerant and providing them with great alternatives through dental devices.

In his professional career, Dr. Bigler began working at CV Dental Care Canyon Vista in Apache Junction, Arizona in 2004. There, he maintains a continued focus on providing comfortable and optimal dental care that is personalized to the needs and wants of his patients. He also mentors other dentists who are committed to providing impeccable dental care to patients.

In addition to his work at CV Dental Care Canyon Vista, Dr. Bigler is affiliated with Oral Sleep Medicine of Arizona (OSMA). With offices in Mesa and Apache Junction, OSMA works closely with individuals who struggle with obstructive sleep apnea, daytime drowsiness, and nighttime snoring. Treatment involves fitting patients with a custom designed, FDA approved, intra-oral appliance that repositions the lower jaw in a way that allows for undisrupted breathing and more effective sleep.

Born and raised in Arizona, Dr. Bigler served a two-year church service mission in South Korea before college. Thereafter, he went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in Aurora, Colorado. Upon graduation, he completed the State-of-the-Art Esthetics course at the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education.

Attributing his success to his access to continuing education courses and having great mentors throughout his journey, Dr. Bigler believes that “graduation is the opening of a door. Get as much continuing education as possible.” He participates in a wide variety of advanced continuing education classes each year to ensure that he stays up-to-date with the latest procedures dentistry has to offer. Additionally, he is a participant of three Advanced Dental Education Study Clubs, as well as a member of the American Dental Association, the Arizona Dental Association, the American Sleep and Breathing Academy, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Orthodontic Society, and the Central Arizona Dental Association.

Dr. Bigler is certified by the American Orthodontic Society for traditional straightwire braces. He is also a certified provider for Invisalign and oral conscious sedation, as well as an implant mentor dentist for Inobiosurge of America. As a result of his expertise, Dr. Bigler was named America’s Top Dentist in General Dentistry in 2007, America’s Top Dentist in Cosmetic and Family Dentistry in 2010, America’s Top Dentist in General Dentistry in 2017, and Top General Dentist in Apache Junction, AZ in 2017. Recently, he was inducted into the Library of Congress as one of the nation’s top dentists.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. A general dentist, like Dr. Bigler, is a primary care dental provider. They diagnose, treat, and manage patients’ overall oral health care needs, including gum care, root canals, fillings, crowns, veneers, bridges, and preventive education.

On a more personal note, Dr. Bigler is married with six children and two grandchildren. He and his family enjoy going on road trips and spending time outdoors.
