    I believe you mean Lasik laser surgery to correct a refraction error like myopia. I only recommend it if you really prefer not to wear glasses or contact lenses. Though many patients are eventually happy with lasik surgery, it can cause distorted vision especially when driving at night with on-coming headlights and other more serious problems like retina detachment. This was followed by a residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai in 1986, and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the Eye Research Institute of Retina Foundation in 1988.

He earned board certification in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America. 

Continuing to apply his knowledge to the betterment of his patients, Dr. Appiah remains a member of the Florida Medical Association, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He attributes his success to being passionate about his field, providing high-quality patient care, utilizing the latest advancements in technology, and continuously being involved in research.

Grateful for his accomplishments, he has earned his status as an authority in the field of ophthalmology by contributing to several case studies and original research efforts. His findings have been featured in many of the industry’s top periodicals. When the opportunity presents itself, Dr. Appiah shares his knowledge with others at speaking engagements around the world.
