Get to know Cardiologist, Dr. Francisco J. Cota Jr., who serves patients in El Paso, Texas

Dr. Cota is a board-certified cardiologist in practice with Cardiology Care Consultants in Texas. Practice locations include Cardiology Care Consultants – North Mesa, Cardiology Care Consultants – Gateway East, Las Palmas Medical Center, and Del Sol Medical Center. Dr. Cota maintains a clinical interest in interventional cardiology and preventative medicine as it relates to coronary artery disease. He values patient education and believes in building trust with his patients for better outcomes.

Dr. Cota graduated with his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He then pursued his internal medicine, his cardiovascular disease medicine fellowship, and his interventional cardiology fellowship at the same educational venue. 

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease medicine, and interventional cardiology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The American Board of Internal Medicine is a 501 nonprofit, self-appointed physician-evaluation organization that certifies physicians practicing internal medicine and its subspecialties.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology.

Outside his professional commitments, Dr. Cota enjoys mountain biking, running, skiing, and hiking.
