  • How long does it take gums to heal after veneers?

As long as the veneers are properly done ( ie. not bulky at the gums and are properly contoured and shaped) it will take a few days (usually less than a week) for the gums to return to normal. The patient must be able to maintain good oral hygiene also. READ MORE

  • Can you reline your dentures yourself?

We recommend NOT to recline dentures yourself. Permanent reclines are hard acrylic material and is done by your dentist. After the redline procedure your denture is sent to a lab ( or in house lab) to process overnight. You should receive your reclined denture the within 2 days with a tighter fit. If for some reason you do it yourself, your denture may have rough spots or the shape of the denture may be different ( borders) and may cause frequent irritation of your gums. READ MORE

  • How many times should I floss?

Flossing once per day is sufficient, unless one gets food particles or any debris caught during the day. It's best to floss at night before bedtime in order that the debris does not remain in your mouth overnight, which can be harmful to your gums (i.e. gingivitis), as well as causing bad taste and breath in the morning. Flossing will not harm your teeth, it is the best means to mechanically remove debris and should be a part of your daily routine. Flossing gently will not cause damage to your gums. READ MORE

  • Can an infected tooth spread the infection to the other teeth as well?

It depends on the type of infection. If it is a "gum" infection then the adjacent teeth may be already involved. If it is an isolated (single tooth) infection then it may take time to affect adjacent teeth. The key is to get the necessary treatment started a well as antibiotic therapy to mitigate the local infection. READ MORE

  • I can't fix my teeth sensitivity. What do I do?

If it is generalized sensitivity (i.e. Affecting all teeth) then I recommend using a combination of sensodyne toothpaste and a fluoride rinse (2x daily for 1st week , 1x day thereafter). If the sensitivity affects only one(1) tooth then I would suggest have your dentist reevaluate the condition (X-ray and clinical exam). Any sensitivity lasting more than 1 min may indicate pathology.
