Dr. Ofir is a caring and compassionate pediatrician whose areas of expertise include patients with complex medical issues, including those with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, VATER syndrome, autism, sickle cell disease, leukemia, as well as transplant patients. At present, she serves as the Director of the Pediatric Comprehensive Care and Pediatric Residency Continuity Clinics at Holtz Children’s Hospital in Miami, Florida.
Holtz Children’s Hospital is one of the largest children’s hospitals in the southeast United States. Located at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, it is known worldwide for its team of pediatric specialists experienced in treating children with all types of needs, from routine care to life-saving procedures. They also train the most pediatric physicians of any medical center in the southeastern United States.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Ofir earned her medical degree from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University in Israel in 1987. Upon relocating to the United States, she went on to complete her residency in pediatrics at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami in 1990.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the doctor sits as Chair of the Immunization Committee and member of the Obesity Committee of the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She also serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dedicated to her profession, she is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP), which is one of the 24 certifying boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties. Founded in 1933, the ABP is an independent, nonprofit organization whose certificate is recognized throughout the world as a credential signifying a high level of physician competence.
