A committed neurosurgeon, Dr. Cohen is the Chief of Neurosurgery at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. Specializing in minimally invasive surgery, he became the first surgeon in New York City to perform the minimally invasive XLIF (eXtreme Lateral Interbody Fusion) and AxiaLIF procedures in 2006.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Cohen graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his internship at Massapequa General Hospital. He then went on to complete his residency in neurosurgery at the North Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and his fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the Weill Cornell Medical Center.
