Get to know General Surgeon Dr. Deborah Maria Rosa, who serves patients in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Rosa has been dedicated to the practice of medicine since 1991. Presently, she serves as the sole general surgeon at Vascular Surgical Specialists, PLLC, based out of the Phoenixville, Pennsylvania office.

Specializing primarily in venous procedures, Dr. Rosa focuses on treating symptomatic or cosmetic varicose veins. Additionally, she provides care for lymphedema patients and attends to select arterial issues within her practice.

Dr. Rosa’s journey into surgery was fueled by a profound sense of fulfillment derived from patients sharing their concerns, identifying the root cause of the issues, and having the opportunity to address them through surgical intervention. Those who have had the privilege of being under her care often praise her for her attentiveness and clear communication regarding diagnoses and treatment options.

With a solid educational background, Dr. Rosa obtained her Medical Degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, now known as Drexel University College of Medicine, in 1985. Following this, she completed her residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey from 1985 to 1991, which included a year-long general surgical research fellowship.

As a testament to her expertise, Dr. Rosa holds board certification from the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Staying abreast of the latest advancements and best practices in her field, Dr. Rosa is an engaged member of various professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the Chester County Medical Society, the Society of Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons (Fellow). 

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on multiple body systems including the circulatory, alimentary, musculoskeletal and nervous system.  Currently Dr. Rosa focuses her treatments with Vascular Surgical Specialist with attention to the Arterial, Venous and Lymphatic diseases of men and women with both symptomatic and cosmetic issues.

Maintaining exemplary standards in patient care, Dr. Rosa has been recognized as a Top Doctor of 2024 by Best in Pennsylvania Magazine. She attributes her success to her genuine enjoyment of patient interaction, her dedication to identifying and addressing medical issues, and her commitment to making patients’ more comfortable through effective treatments.

In her personal life, Dr. Rosa finds joy in gardening and cherishes spending time with her children, along with her dogs, cats, horses, and chickens.
