  • What is the fastest way to relieve shoulder pain?

Hello, That is a great question. However, your question is very " vague ". Please resend me with a good history of what increases the pain in regard's to raising your arm from your side, front, or backwards? How long have you been suffering from the pain? Is it in the front of the shoulder, side, or back? Please give me more detail's... An examination would be best. God Bless, Dr. Richard Feher,D.C., C.C.S.T. READ MORE

  • What are the methods chiropractors use when treating back pain?

Hello, There are literally hundred's of " technique's " to treat the spine for various condition's. Many " Technique's " that are taught in all Chiropractic School's. Every School had thier " Founder's " whom attended " Palmer School of Chiropractic ". Now known as Palmer College of Chiropractic. It has alway's been the " Harvard/ Mayo Clinic " of Chiropractic. Yes, I am a Graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. Do I know exceptional Doctor's of Chiropractic from other School's.... Most certainly @! A Chiropractor who has spent hundred's of hour's learning non- taught excellent techniques outside of thier School's are the most excellent Chiropractor's. Please excuse some of the absurd " Quack like a Duck " seen on Tic-Toc or Facebook make many of us, " Sick to our stomachs "@!!!! Ask around Church, Gym's, Medical Doctor's, Nurse's ect. who they would recommend. That is the best way to find a Chiropractor who is highly reputable. I wish you well. READ MORE

  • Should you massage a pulled back muscle?

It all depends if you have a sprain or a strain. What muscle group and the magnitude and nature of the injured region. Only upon examination could I answer your question. READ MORE

  • What can I do about discomfort in my back?

Hello, I am sorry to hear that you have been in pain when standing in one place for too long. To start, I would have you do a history of injuries, knee, foot, or hip problem's. I would examine you with much focus on your posture, your gait, ( they way you walk ) check your arches of your feet, and than do a R.O.M. test to see if there is a decrease and in what position that may decrease or increase your pain. I would check to see if you had an anatomical "Short Leg Syndrome ". One leg shorter than 4-5 m.m.'s. I have found in the past 30 year's of practice, that when most people experience pain primarily when standing in one place too long, a heel lift which increases a Short Leg Syndrome, can help tremendously! An X-Ray in the standing position of the Back view of the Lumbo-Sacral Spine with both hip joints included, it can be measured precisely if there is a short leg, or any other reason why you are having your pain. To see is to know. Not to see is a guess. I would not want someone guessing about my spine.. I can only say, without examing you, that you would be making a good choice by coming into the office to have a Comprehensive Exam with Radiographs. If I found anything that was out of the scope of Chiropractic, I would certainly refer you to the proper Specialist deemed necessary. Thank you for your question. I hope my advice will help you. God Bless, Dr.Richard S Feher, D.C. READ MORE

  • Can a chiropractor really realign your spine?

Hello, Realignment is a have frequently in the past year's of going on my 30th of an owner, sole proprietor. There are many factors in the so called Realignment. You have heard of Muscle memory? The scientific word is " Re-Afferentation which is similar to muscle memory.... In short, which Chiropractic Specific Adjustments, can so-call Realignmen the spine. I hope that has answered your question... Feel free to contact me anytime. God Bless, Dr.Richard S Feher, D.C.? READ MORE

  • Why do chiropractors crack your toes?

Hello, I will never ever say the words "to tell you the truth ". However, if a patient has a foot condition such as metatarsalgia, a chiropractor who is trained in adjusting extremities, would adjust joint dysfunction of the bone or bone's proximal above your toe or toe's to improve joint function. As for myself like many patients, some patients have asked me to adjust a "jammed toe" that is similar to a jammed finger. My football team M.D. would often adjust, a painful phalanx "finger" if it was in pain. I hope this answer clear's up your question. God Bless, Dr. Richard Feher, D.C.C.C.S.T. READ MORE

  • What is the best chiropractic technique?

Fact: A variety of techniques that improve spinal function and in turn significantly improve your life. I personally have an arsenal of about 15 various technique's that I use "As needed for specific problems". Chiropractic is n science and an art. I prefer to use my ways...It may involve a towel and traction adjustment, standing on my table to adjust a rib out of place, sternochondrtis, in the front, and adjust the rib in the front by giving a so-called Bear Hug Lift. May sound barbaric, but it works great! I retract my original amount to about 25 different techniques. God Bless, Dr. Richard Feher, D.C READ MORE

  • What helps with back muscle pain?

A "spasm" is an involuntary (you cannot make a spasm, unless you, for ex., flex your thigh or calve as hard as you can for a few minutes. You will get a spasm or cramp that is very painful) contraction of a muscle. God created a wonderful human body. Sometimes the body goes into spasm to guard or protect a problem organ or produced by an injured region of the body. There is also the "Pain-Spasm effect". The more spasm, the more pain. Conversely, the more pain, the more spasm cycle. If due to an injury, it is "trying to protect the injury." If for no reason, it can be coming from the spinal nerves, or from an organ. Low potassium or low sodium (salt) due to various reasons can cause SPASM. Pickle juice works well. A false statement of eating a banana is false. You would have to eat 88 bananas to get the proper amount of potassium! Speak to your Family Medical Doctor, P.A./Nurse Practitioner, or Chiropractor to find the cause of your SPASMS! READ MORE

  • Can a chiropractor help shoulder tendonitis?

Hello, Your question is very vague. Do you have pain from your neck to your elbow? Do you have moderate to severe pain when you raise your arm from your side to your ear? Do you have weakness lifting objects from beside you or reaching behind you? You may have Rotator Cuff Syndrome or referred pain from your neck. The only way to find out is to have a comprehensive exam. I wish you well, Dr. Richard Feher, D.C. READ MORE

  • My shoulder pain is getting worse without chiropractic?

Good morning, I am sorry your shoulder has not responded well to chiropractic conservative care. May I ask you how long this condition has plagued you? A week, or several months? If your shoulder has been a nagging, dull, or sharp pain with a loss of ROM, which is full motion, you should have an MRI! If you have normal ROM, with no weakness in strength, you may have Shoulder Impingement Syndrome. Have your family doctor arrange an MRI. I would recommend an orthopedic surgeon if you have 3/4 of a tear in the Supraspinatis muscles, Teres Minor, or Infraspinatis muscle. Also, rule out a tear of the Subscpularis muscle. Remember, the rotator cuff muscles can only withstand 3-5 pounds. Any weight heavier, the deltoid muscles take over. I WISH YOU WELL, DR. RICHARD S. FEHER, D.C. READ MORE

  • How do you sleep with misaligned hips?

Hello, My wish for you is that this should take care of your pain. Sleeping on your back is the best. In addition you should elevate your let's up to about 65 degrees with some thick pillows. A side sleeper should invest in a knee/wedge pillow that can be found at the "On T.V." section of stores such as Wal-Mart, Walgreens, or Dollar General. Also look on Amazon. This should stabilize your pelvis. In addition, if you have had this problem for more than 4-6 weeks, you should have an X-ray of your Lumbo-Pelvic spine. I hope this will remedy your condition. If your pain has worsened over time, seek council with your Family Doctor or a Chiropractor. God Bless, Dr. Richard S. Feher, D.C READ MORE

  • How do you know if your sciatic nerve is pinched?

Good Morning, Sciatica is a painful condition. True sciatica shoots severe pain from the low back or buttock down into the hamstring, pain behind the knee, and down into the the muscle behind the shin and sometimes even to the bottom of the foot. There are multiple causes of sciatica. A disc problem in the lumbar bone in low back. Primarily L-5 -S1 and sometime' s L-4-L5. Sometimes spurs, also called arthritis, can pinch the nerves, creating Sciatica. Another lesser evil is called Pirfomis Syndrome. This is a muscle where the Sciatic nerve travels through an opening called the Sciatic notch. Googling stretches for the Pirifomis Muscle Stretches can be very helpful. 3 nerves in the Sacrum (that triangular bone that attaches to the spine and pelvis that makes up "Big Five" nerves of the Sciatic nerve). There could be other conditions as well. As always, consult with your Chiropractor or Family Doctor. HAVE A BLESSED DAY, Dr. Richard S. Feher, D.C READ MORE
