Albert J. Solnit Psychiatric Center – South Campus is a state-administered psychiatric facility in Middletown for Connecticut’s children who are under the age of eighteen. It provides comprehensive care to children and adolescents with severe mental illness and related behavioral and emotional problems who cannot be safely assessed or treated in a less restrictive setting. The South Campus consists of four coed hospital units and three female adolescent psychiatric residential treatment facility cottages.

Graduating with her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1986, Dr. Leebens went on to further her training. She performed her residency in psychiatry at Connecticut Mental Health Center in 1990, her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital in 1992, and an additional fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Yale New Haven Hospital in 1994.

With over 35 years of experience, she is board-certified in psychiatry & child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
