Deena A. Sylvester, MD was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine graduating in the top of her class. She completed her internship at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and performed her residency training in Ophthalmology at Akron City Hospital/Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio where she was appointed Chief Resident. She went on to complete a fellowship in Anterior Segment Surgery at The Sinskey Eye Institute in Santa Monica, California.

Dr. Sylvester has built a reputation as an innovative and talented clinician and surgeon. She has conducted advanced research in the antibiotic treatment of corneal and intraocular infection. She has also been involved in studies with the latest technology in cataract surgery and in evaluation of the efficacy of eyelid surgery in the treatment of chronic tearing. Her research has been presented at numerous medical symposia including the American Academy of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and has been accepted for publication in various medical journals. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Sylvester’s practice encompasses comprehensive ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery including state-of-the art cataract surgery and eyelid surgery. She also has more than 15 years of experience with dermal fillers as well as cosmetic & therapeutic Botox treatments.

Dr. Sylvester is a dedicated clinician and surgeon who is devoted to her patients and committed to their eye care.
