  • What to do about lower back pain?

Prolonged sitting in incorrect positions can possibly lead to lower back disc degeneration. An indication of disease progression can be pain radiating down either legs. I would see a spine specialist to review more in detail your symptoms, go into more specifics the triggers that cause your pain along besides sitting. I would also start off with an office X-rays of your lumbar spine along with a more detailed history and examination. A telemedicine visit would also be a good first start as well. READ MORE

  • What should you not do with a bulging disc?

  • Is a back brace good for computer work?

A very good question! And a question I get a lot. More effective would be if you can get a standing desk; or an ergonomic chair where you can be reclined more back; if not, for example, you can get a lumbar support cushion. But a lumbar corset that isn't too restrictive is a good option for sitting and standing with the goal that you take breaks and stand periodically as well. READ MORE
