Get to know Orthodontist Dr. Kevin McCaffrey, who serves patients in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Dr. McCaffrey is the only board-certified orthodontist and Diamond+ Invisalign® provider in Palm Beach County. He sees patients at his private practice, Lunsford McCaffrey Orthodontics, alongside fellow orthodontist, Dr. Joseph Lunsford. 

He recognizes the value of patient-centered treatment and the significant impact that a smile can have on a patient’s life. “It brings my heart joy to see the smile on a child’s face when their treatment is complete, and their confidence is sky high. That’s why I do this” stated Dr. McCaffrey.

A top 1% Invisalign provider worldwide (Diamond Plus Provider), he has a special interest in helping those who desire a beautiful smile without the use of traditional braces. He has also completed additional orthodontist-exclusive, Invisalign-specific training with the leading experts in Invisalign treatment.

Regarding his educational background, Dr. McCaffrey received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from the Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. He then went on to specialize exclusively in orthodontics by obtaining a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, the highest degree available for orthodontists. During dental school, due to his excellence in scholarship, exemplary traits of character and qualities for future professional growth, he was selected to become a member of the prestigious dental fraternity, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. 

As part of his orthodontic residency, Dr. McCaffrey independently led research that supported the use of digital radiography and highlighted its lower radiation doses for use in clinical orthodontics. He has obtained specialized training in a wide variety of orthodontic techniques, including interceptive (Phase 1) and comprehensive treatment, multidisciplinary treatment (including surgical) and the Invisalign® system. 

Dedicated to staying current with his orthodontic and dental knowledge, he is an active member in the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, and the Florida Association of Orthodontists. He has served as a board member of the Broward County Dental Association and was President of the Fort Lauderdale Dental Study Club. He is also involved in several local study clubs.

Applying patient-centered, cutting-edge and research-based orthodontic technologies to obtain exceptional treatment outcomes, Dr. McCaffrey is board-certified in orthodontics by the American Board of Orthodontics, which is the highest honor an orthodontist can achieve. To become a board-certified orthodontist, candidates must pass a rigorous exam where several patients with initially difficult orthodontic treatment must be treated with exceptional outcomes and graded by other experienced and board-certified orthodontists. Dr. McCaffrey passed this exam on the first attempt.

Orthodontists are responsible for identifying problems with the positioning of a patient’s teeth and with their oral development. They utilize the most advanced procedures and equipment available to ensure that every patient achieves a healthy and beautiful smile. 

Passionate about helping those in need, Dr. McCaffrey has donated his time on mission trips in Jamaica and Haiti. He is involved with Give Kids a Smile and Relay for Life, and is committed to providing the best possible orthodontic experience to the residents of Wellington, West Palm Beach, Greenacres, and the surrounding communities.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Stacey, their daughter, Reagan, their son, Kent, and their Yorkies, Roxy and Reilly. They enjoy visiting the beach, working out, traveling, and being involved with their church.
