With a broad educational background, Dr. Patel graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology. Continuing his education, he earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Following medical school, he completed his internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the State University of New York, Downstate (Formerly known as The State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn). He then received his subspecialty training in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
After completing his orthopaedic residency and foot and ankle fellowship, Dr. Patel attained board certification in orthopaedic surgery through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, he is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. Additionally, he has made numerous clinical presentations detailing basic science and orthopaedic surgery research.
Highly recommended amongst colleagues and patients alike, Dr. Patel is also an attending physician at JFK Medical Center and Menlo Surgery Center.
