Dr. Mehta is a highly experienced and respected physician who has been in practice for more than four decades. His life in medicine traces back to 1975 at his graduation from the Government Medical College of Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, India, where he was awarded a gold medal alongside his medical degree to distinguish academic excellence. He was then able to complete postgraduate study at the recognized academic institutes, Postgraduate Medical education and Research ,Chandigarh India and All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi India . Following these graduations Dr Mehta became a resident at the University of Alberta in Canada, and then earned his fellowship at the Cross Cancer Institute of Edmonton. In pursuit of advanced medical training he undertook a second fellowship at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. While a fellow Dr. Mehta was published in research and later he also co-authored 2 textbooks. Dr. Mehta is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Hospice Care & Palliative Medicine, and Medical Oncology. It is in this last mentioned field that he has become internationally renowned over the span of his career for treating a wide range of cancer-related conditions and blood disorders. He has received the V.A.’s Secretary Hand and Hearts Award for excellent patient care, known among colleagues and patients not only for his expertise as a hematologist and oncologist but also for his compassionate approach to medicine.
