Dr. Phieffer is a board-certified dermatologist who has been practicing dermatology since 1998. In 2006, she designed her own state-of-the-art office and began her own practice: Avenues Dermatology, PLLC. Her thriving practice is located “on the Avenues” in Richmond, Virginia.
The mission of Avenues Dermatology is to provide the best dermatology care in a beautiful, friendly, and compassionate environment. Dr. Phieffer practices medical dermatology, performs skin cancer surgery (with the benefit of having trained with several plastic surgeons), and is one of the top injectors in the Richmond area for Botox and fillers, offering the entire Juvederm line of fillers. She also offers cosmetic services, including the Vi Peel and Dermapen microneedling, and several lines of premium skin care products.
At the start of her academic career, Dr. Phieffer attended Phillips Andover Academy, where she graduated with honors in 1988. She then earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry at Dartmouth College, where she graduated Cum Laude in 1992. She received her medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia; during medical school she received numerous scholarship awards and graduated with honors in 1997. She then trained in internal medicine at the Medical College of Virginia and completed her residency in dermatology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where she served as Chief Resident from 2000 – 2001.
Specializing in skin care, the doctor is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.
In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Phieffer is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Dermatology (Fellow), the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the Richmond Dermatology Society, the Richmond Academy of Medicine, the Medical Society of Virginia, and the American Society for Cosmetic and Laser Surgery.
